Mangalore also known as Mangaluru,is described as the Gate way of Karnataka or the port city which is surrounded by Arabian sea on West and Western ghats on East.Mangalore is also called as mangaluru(in Kannada), kudla(in tulu), Kodiyal(in konkani), Maikala(in beary), Mangalaapuram(in Malayalam), Kodeyaala(in Havyakka), Manjarun(in Sanskrit), Mayngalur(by our express bus conductors). Mangalore is named after Mangaladevi temple. It is the largest city and administrative headquarters of the Dakshina Kannada district.
